I have a 2002 ford explore with th 4.0 and auto 4x4 i have the 5r55w trasmission now here is my problem I can put my explore in drive but nothing will happen this is where it gets strange to me if I father the gas like a standard i can get my explore to move and then it's fine the hole time driving it what is my problem this is what has been done by a tranny shop new filter and fluid with no change and there is no od light flashing and the vehicle will shift fine I'm stomped any help would be great thank you bobby

@BOBBY32 Possibly mechanically challenged Shift Solenoid A, sticking, then gradually moves to allow hydraulic pressure for 1st. gear. Need to know what happens if you start out in 3, or 2. imp

It dose not matter what gear 123 you still have to father the gas to get truck to move and there is no metal shavings in the pan or fluid

I got it figured out now just need to fide where the part is its the pump flow control vavle assembly that is sticking do you happen to know where that is imp ?
 






Bobby, did you get it figured out? I have an 03 explorer v8 4x4 tranny shifts hard, shutters, clunks in gear, and will not lock the torque converter, any suggestions on who to talk to or kits to rebuild?
 






Also sometimes check tranny lighy comes on sometimes o/d light flashes code the tranny is flashing is a tft sensor reading high which is fluid temp correct?
