Hi,
I bought some 2X4 transmission filters instead of 4X4 transmission filters.
The 2X4 have no cylinder extension.
My question is if I can use the 2X4 transmission filters. Or what can go wrong?
Regards
Michael

I would not use the two wheel drive filter it is too shot and could suck air instead of fluid. The four wheel drive one has the extension and goes into the fluid further. If your trans sucks air it could cause the clutches to release and could cause the trans to burn up. This is unlikely but ya never know.

Not that unlikely. It will be just like running the trans low on fluid.

Either change to the 2wd pan (uhh...no!) or use the correct filter.

Definitely use the right one, transmissions aren't cheap. :)
