My kids 94 automatic 4wd explorer came home after about 50 mile drive trans fluid was poring out on road .You could see big line of where he had been and explorer would not move anymore out of fluid. I went there next day added 4 qts to bring it to full now drives find and I do not see any leaking on road .Can not tell where it came from as it was all over bottom of explorer could it be that a vent hole was blocked and got hot and fluid was pushed out of seals?????? And if that is what happened where is vent hole and how do you unplug? Pictures Please and any others things that may have happened .Thanks for any Help Vic

It is very doubtful that the vent tube is clogged. Trans fluid usually blows out from over heating.

So what should I check next? Flush radiator? change trans filter? or ????

Did the engine over heat?
The trans fluid lines to the radiator and the trans cooler, could be damaged, (crushed)
Was the driver doing a lot of low speed, heavy on the throttle stuff?
If you find nothing, it needs to be driven awhile to see if it happens again, a cracked flex plate can cause the front seal to leak.

Engine did not over heat. He drove about 50 miles a little city the last 20higway about 55 mph last 2 up small bluff but he has been driving up bluff and the 14 highway the last 2 months. He drove to work tonight no problem but has not gone home yet the 14 and 2.
