Transmission help

I'm new to this forum. A transmission shop rep said the 2002 Explorer my sone owns may need a new Cell pack. He also mentioned a Solenoid Block. Are these two names for the same thing? Does a Cell Pack go into a Solenoid Block.

The real question is can I replace these parts without getting into the transmission?

I can change parts but I'm not qualified to tear into a transmission.

Can someone direct me to a picture of what I'm asking about?

Never mind. I found from another source that I could have done it. We decide that the service tech was honest and fair so we let him make the repair.
