Transmission Maintenance - Fluid Change?

I get my trans flushed and change the filter every 30k miles. I figure why take chances, and also a friend of mine works at a shop where they have a tranny flush machine so All I pay is for the trans fluid and he does it for me (but I have to help).

Do you use synthetic ATF?

Is the fiter "dirty" at this change interval?

I use mercon V, which I believe is synthetic. I don't really check the filter to see if it is dirty or not. I can get the filter at cost, and the fluid I get for what the shop pays for it, because I help out with doing some of the labor. I just change it so often, cause I would rather be safe than sorry. It may be overkill, but 78k and it still shifts like new with no leaks or noises.

i flushed mine when it had 100,000 miles and i had to get it rebuilt. let the gunk hold it together till it blows

bought my Ex with 96,000 mile on it or so, it now has almost 109,000, haven't had any troubles,

i dropped the pan and changed the filter around 103,000 miles and i plan to drop the pan and change the filter every 15,000 miles,

the fluid was red when i got it and i plan to keep it that way

at almost 120k in my 98 X. Messed up the tranny around 103k during a short winter run - now shifts hard from 3-4. But it manages... somehow.
