Hi,
Have a 03 Ranger 4.0L SOHC with the mazda 5 speed. Transmission makes hissing and gurgling noises when first driven in gears 1, 2, and 5. Noise goes away after about 30 minutes of driving in all gears except 2. No whine is present, and sounds are only noticeable in the cab. Checked fluid and transmission had fluid past the fill plug. Fluid was a dirty brown almost motor oil in color. Transmission shifts fine, just noisy when cold. Should I be concerned?
