Hey guys. I believe that my trans is slitly over heating when outside temps are above 90deg and i know for sure it overheated when i was towing my boat. i have changed fluid and filter when i replaced engine so its got good fluid and filter. now i am almost wondering if my exhaust pipes that run next to trans could be initiating this. the explorer is a 98 with the dual exhaust factory setup. does anyone know if over heating trans was a problem in this year? trans works perfectly. the only time it acted up was when i towed with it. it started to shutter, but i let cool down and then now runs fine now, unless i take a long trip then i can barely notice a bit of a shutter. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am mechanically inclined so don't be afraid to get technical, I should understand, I just now that some of you guys have done ur go arounds with this 5spd auto and i am sure i can use your advice!
THANKS, GUYS.......

Largest tranny cooler you can fit on it and a tranny temp gauge, then do a complete flush with synthetic fluid.Make sure your fan clutch is good and that your engine temp is not going up also.I don't feel the exhaust would make a difference if it was factory.:D
