transmission question

my wife wrecked are first 95 ford explorer that was 2wd. i bought another 95 ford explorer but its 4x4 no big deal but the tranny is out in it. i just had the one in the wrecked rebuildt two years ago. is there anyway to make that work in the 4x4 explorer is there a way to mount the transfer case to this or did i just have to have the new explore rebuildt. any help would be great thanks

if the transmissions are the same then yes you could swap them but in 95 they used the 4r55e and the 4r44e transmissions.

ok so is there a plate on there for the transfer case to go into

no. the transfer case bolt to the rear of the transmission. there should be a skid plate that goes underneath the transfer case. but i removed mine. it just bolt to the frame with 2 bolts in each rail.
