My transmission is acting up and not shifting to a gear unless i rev up the engine to 1500-2000rpm in neutral and then change in to D, when driving it changes gears "fine" but when slowing down and changing to 3,2,1 gears it will take more time than i would think it should do, if i don't rev up the engine in N but go straight from P to D it will hardly move even revving up the engine to 2-3000rpm it will only slightly move until i take the foot of the gas and let it drop to around 1000 rpm it will kick into gear and drive fine after that.

The other day my car had the battery dead and i found out that the "shoes" on the end of the cables that plug into the battery had bad connection, i fixed that up and charged the battery and i felt like the transmission was working really good. Also for some long time my brakes have been kicking back the pedal like if i was braking in a icy road and i did not feel that after the battery fix (dint know that it was a problem until it got "fixed").

Now the transmission is acting up again and the brakes are kicking me again

So now what would you guys think could the battery be going bad on me and not giving enough Volts or CCA to run the transmission and ABS right ?

since the gears shift good after revving up the engine (making the alternator put out more V and A)

Also what should the right Idle speed of the engine be ? (it runs 600 stable)

Thanks in advance and hopefully i'm understandable ;)

Yes the pcm needs a good battery to work right. It is a symptom, might not be your problem but battery voltage is on the pinpoint test. Replace the battery and retest. Yes 550 to 650 rpm is OK

thank you for your reply mate

If not the battery what could this problem be ? Any place where i should look first for trouble ?
