My 98 XLT 4x4 transmission will skip only when cold when I accelerate hard from a dead stop. I will be at a stop, accelerate hard and it will take about a second for the gear to catch and jerk real hard. After the engine temp gauge is at normal, it wont do it anymore. Transmission fluid level is ok. Its 4.0 SOHC
