I read a couple similar posts but before I get under the car and start spilling transmission fluid all over myself, I'm hoping I can find out exactly what I need to do first!

I bought a 96 Explorer with a bad motor, since mine had been wrecked I had a good motor. Put in the motor and it's running great. However the Explorer I bought I was told had had the transmission rebuilt and I believe it has. The transmission runs great except for when I start it each morning, it goes into reverse just fine but when I put it into drive, it takes a few seconds of revving up the motor before it goes. I don't have any more problems after that.

The fluid level is full, the fluid looks great, a lite red and has no smell other than that of healthy transmission fluid. I'm assuming the filter is relatively new, I'll change it when I get under it but I read that maybe the valve body may not be tight or that the valve body gasket may need to be replaced?

I also read there may be some additives I can ad to help solve this problem also?

I'm hoping someone who has had the same problem in the past can tell me what I need to do before I just start guessing and trying stuff?
