I would like to run this by you guys for an opinion.
My 99 exploder is slow to engage when I put in drive. And actually it has progressed to the point where it wont engage in drive at all, BUT if I shift into 2nd or low it engages immediately and then I shift back into drive and it's fine. No slippage in any gear, fluid is level and clean, I did put a valve body in it two years ago when that cracked.
I have rebuilt a few c-4,s and c-6,s but no experience with this model trans. My first thought would be the seal on the front drum, because shifting to 2 or low is probably helping to build line pressure.
Any thoughts from the trans experts?
