Transmission Swap

I am currently looking at a 2002 4x4 with a bad tranny and I have a 2004 4x4 with a donor tranny. I'm not sure if the tranny will swap to the 02 that needs a tranny? Where do I find the ID on each to know if they will interchange?

I have already done a 4.0 swap out of a Mustang to the the 04 that I sold recently but I haven't messed around to much with tranny swaps. I do have a good tranny and I know there are several Explorers that are in need of them. I am considering buying a clean one and using it in the weeks to come.
