Transmission Temp Monitoring

So looking throughout the forum I see alot of reference to the Scangauge as a way to monitor the trans temp w/o drilling the pan. While researching it I also came across the "Ultra-Gauge". It doesn't specify that it will monitor the trans temp just that it reads the computer. Anyone on here use one of these? Will it read the trans temp on an 02' Ex.
Almost forgot, it's waaayyyy cheaper than the scangauge.
