Transmission type

Where can I find out what model of transmission I have in my truck? I know there were different models available but I cannot locate it. I have checked the driver side door jam and tail gate with no success. Is the transmission model number stamped on the housing somewhere?

You probably have a 5R55E transmission since you have a 4.0L SOHC engine. Which is a 5-speed automatic tramsmisson. If you have a 5.0L V8 than you would have a 4R70W transmission, which is a 4-spd auto tramsmission.
