I know this is probably a stupid question, but I am just curious as to what transmission is in a 96 Sport. Is it the same as the four doors??

The reason why I am asking is I want to see about a mild shift kit. I dont particularlly care for the way my exp shifts. I would like to get a quicker down shift. Hey thanks for your help.

taken from Mako distributing web site- http://www.bulkparts.com/ couldnt get a Url for the specific page but go to the main page- then go to parts by catagory , and then transgo shift kits and scroll down. Ive ordered from them before no problems.

hope that helps

well I found out today that B&M has an electronic shifter improver for 95-98 i believe. It has three settings, off, hard shift, and an even harder shift for towing. I work at Autozone and that is how i found out about it. it is called a shiftplus P/N is 70381 I believe. I am gonna install it when I get it, i just ordered it today. So if anyone is looking for a shift kit for a 95-97,97 explorer this would be the one to get. It gets spliced into two wires and installs in a matter of minutes.
I hope someone can use this information.
