transmission wont lock in park

Hello just replaced blown shift control on 2002 ford explorer xlt,was a pain all rusted up and shift lever spun all the way around. Did get everything back together but for some reason when in park the transmisiion does not lock. Runs fine shifts to all gears no problem just rolls away when shut off in park or when runnning in park any ideas?

Because the shift lever spun all the way around I'd have ton say that the linkage to the park pawl either disengaged or broke. You will need to drop the transmission pan and check the linkage rod going to the tail of the trans.
