Transmission wont shift into 2nd gear

So I have the exact same problem as this thread. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=222560

The only difference is when I hand shift from 1st to 2nd and to Drive it works fine. Its only under load in Drive that it wont shift into 2nd gear. As you accelerator thru 1st you have to back off the throttle and it well jump into 3rd.

I've pulled the pan and have nothing in the oil not even a burnt smell.


Any help would be great.

Blown valve body gaskets can do this.

Remove the valve body to find out for sure.
