trany or transfer

my car only moves i 4 lo and i barly moves in 4 lo it all habend on the high way it felt like it was sliping the trany but i changed the filter and fluid there was only normal meatal shavigs and if i jake up the rare end and put it in drive the wheel turnes what the hell is it

Yeah kinda hard to understand but if the tranny is slipping if you jack up the rear and put in drive the wheels will probably turn because there isn't really any load on the tranny or rear like there would if it were sitting on the ground.

Sounds like it's time for a rebuild.

I had a jeep with the same thing last month, I could only drive it slowly in 4low and it just made it to the hoist... Most likey seals, does it move easier when it's cold?
