I'm having trouble with figuring out what tire size to get for my 02 4x4. Ive read on this site the max tire size I can fit with a TT/shackle lift but what would be the max size I would want if I actually do take my truck off road and bounce it around a bit. I don't want to kill my fenders, I will be doing a body lift but probably not till later this year and I need tires sooner then that. Would a 265/70/16be a good size? How about 32x11.5x16? I am going to be using the stock wheels for now.

32's would fit with minor trimming with TT/Shackle. Im sure 33's would fit too.

IF you can go with 32x10.50 it would fit much better.

I have a friend who is running 265/75r16 on his 04 sport trac with a tt and shackle only. Hopes that helps any.

im running a 33X12.50XR16 with just a tt in the front, it rubs alittle bit but im about to fix that tomarrow.

Thanks,

I spoke with a friend yesterday and he said that before he did his body lift he put 33x12.5x15 on his 03 4x2 and only had a little rubbing when he went off road with his TT/shackle lift. He cut some plastic from inside the tirewell which you can see in the photo here.

I have 265/70/16 goodyear wrangler on my 02 4x4 with no lift of any kind. They do rub a bit when fully stuffed. The tire measures 30 3/4" inch tall. I do wheel it and wish I would have went with the bigger tires and lived with the rubbing till I lift it. Just my .02.

my 01 has 275/70r16's with no lift and havent rubbed yet at all havent flexed it much but none so far. I want to go bigger might tt and shackle and go for 33's

If you're worried about rubbing, then go with 265/75's. I had them on my old '05 and didn't have any problems.
