down sizing tires

I know it sounds crazy, but I have some real good off road tires on 15" rims on my Cherokee. Will the 15" rims fit over the stock 16" disc brakes? Want to go 4 wheeling but the stock tires look a little lame for that. Drive mostly on highway but willing to swap tires for off road trips. Thanks

No, they wont fit. They'll rub on the caliper and surrounding components.

I doubt it'd fit, clearance is really tight as is with the 16". It'd be easy to hold the wheel up to the hub and see though.
