truck is sucking gas

my 2000 explorer sport 4.0 sohc started sucking more gas then ususal, the check engine light is on and when its cold itll idle real bad then kinda high then real bad again then after a min itll level out around 1200 rpm and my obd2 port doesnt work for some reason. what do u guys think it is? im guessing tps

Higher than usual RPM is normal on startups because the computer will try to warm up the engine as fast as possible. I'd get the OBD Port working first because this could be anything - like an O2 sensor.
