I have a a 2000 Explorer Limited 4.0 V6 with 4wd/Awd and have a multitude of issues . The day I got it everything was working fine and then seemingly all at once the wipers , the radio and cruise quit working. ! The airbag light came on and the drivers door lock quit working also . I did a little research and came up with the clockspring being the problem so I replaced it and then I still have no radio yet hear whistling of current through speakers and when my wipers did not come back i checked the motor out and it had a hole burnt through it , airbag light still on but code now says it is passenger airbag that is not workingmy abs llight is on and I have checked the fuses and they are good its a great little truck but this giving me fits any help is appreciated

Yeah clockspring is just a rotary contact that anything with buttons, lights, or a horn on the steering wheel must have to avoid fraying the wires to these from wear every time the wheel is turned.

So many things wrong, best to tackle them one at a time though I'd wonder if this was a flood vehicle and would check grounds on things like the radio.

There are wiring diagrams linked in my sig below.

Check ALL fuses in the interior compartment, then check those in the under-hood compartment. Next check the relays, which you can swap between others of the same size in those boxes.

If all else fails, examine as much of the wiring as possible and try unplugging, examining the connector, and replugging the GEM module.

Hey never thought about the GEM module and not a flood vehicle that I know first 153 K it was original owner and a company car so it is in pretty nice shape now it 227K on it and things just go out but so many at once it has been a bit frustrating but will take your advice and start with the obvious and chase it down the GEM module and see what happens ! Thanks
