Trying to Upgrade radio in 01 sport trac

So, I bought a new radio for my sport trac. It is a radio from a 2005 sport trac and it worked coming out of the truck. When I hook it up to my truck there is no sound. Is there something I need to bypass? Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I probably should tell you that I had the 6disk before and it stopped working, tried reseting and it still didn't work. The new HU is also a 6disk. The guy who sold it to me said it needs an amp. I thought that the HU had internal amps. Now I'm kinda confused.

Some of the "premium" systems have external amps.

2005 runs on the canbus system. 2001 did not. I have no idea how to rid your own harness, but I can tell you that it is not simply plug and play.

Hey, now that I think about it. Check behind the passenger rear seat. I believe the factory amp (if there is one) is behind the panels.
