Anyone have any experience with this company? They offer a conversion kit for 91-94 Explorers for $260 and you have to supply your own (GM) brake calipers.

Rear discs

You should call Currie Enterprises as they have a kit that uses all '95 Explorer brake parts. It's completely bolt on and you can get pads and discs easily in the future. The only item you need to weld is tabs for the hard line connection to the rubber or steel hoses to the calipers. Even if you pay someone to weld the tabs it should only cost $20.00 or so. I did the whole conversion myself in under a day.

Ford Motorsports sells the Ford parts to do the disk brake conversion. Actually, you could probably go to a junkyard, and unbolt all the pieces you need from a wrecked truck (just replace the pads and calipers with rebuilt ones).

Brian-You did the Currie swap. What was the total costs for the kit, extra parts, etc?
Thanks
Pete

I believe the total cost was about 300 bucks plus 99 for the new parking brake cable. I did all the work myself. The only problem I had was the small bolt that holds the large pin between the spider gears was brokenand I had a hard time weaseling it out with a pick but, It did finally come out.

i agree with scott, it would probably be easier jsut to swap out the entire axle and rearend with one off of a 95-up explorer, this would be best for someone like me cause i could get a 3.73 ls instead of the open 3.08 that i got at the same time and it would probaly be cheaper too, a jeeper friend of mine says that you ought to be able to get the whole axel for less than 300 bucks and from what ve read its a real easy swap.
