Hey guys, i pulled the drop brackets 5.5" superlift axle pivot brackets, and i am gettin ready to modify them, add gussets, back plating, and i am going to drop the pivot bolts 1.5" .... here is the question, on the bracket for the pass. side beam the holes are one inch apart, the bracket is used for both 4.5" and 5.5" lifts. OK this makes sense.... the holes on the other bracket are 1 7/8" apart????? so when i make my new hole for this bracket do i need to go another 2.813 inches? i figure the different lengths are for odd angles. If anyone has done this or has some insight into the geometry on these holes please reply asap..

thanx, dodgerr

PLeeeeeeeezzzeee

Hey sorry to keep bumpin' this but i would like some insight before i do this.

i will probably do it anyway, it's not the first thing i have fabbed by far but steering geometry considered i wanna be double sure. So any help would be appreciated.

Drop bracket geometry

I have not taken measurements myself. I also have the Superlift. I considered talking with my alignment person regarding this geometry. I was thinking that using the upper holes for the 5.5" lift would actually lift the axle higher but increase the angle of the axle making allignment a little harder (greater angle to compensate for).

I expect he difference in the mounting hole location is to compensate for the different TTB lengths / geometry.

Just curious...

Why would you want to relocate those holes?

MORE height

I want to relocate these holes, or actually create new holes 1.5" lower because i have 7.5" of lift and want the angles to be right , or closer to right so that the camber won't be maxed out with the most eccentric camber bushing. See i figured since i am taking them off to reinforce them anyway i might as well get my geometry closer too, i mean if i am gonna void the warranty i am gonna do it well :D ! Anyway i think i am gonna do this, i'll let y'all know how it turns out, i mean hell one could use 8" coils with brackets that were modified like this. On another note the second generation of my new radius arm/tranny support crossmember is just about done. will hopefully get the back window this week or next, this truck is finally comin together.

thanx for the replies
