TTB Radius Arms - Superlift Replacements???

You dont' hear of stock ones breaking.. Why not just extend some stock ones? You can even upgrade to different types of joints if you want.

...Hey brother, can you spare a dime...:D

At some point in the future, I am going to upgrade (replace) my Rancho setup with a Camburg one - more parts for you!

...Actually, I have been offered a set of stocker's to extend and I am also looking at having a set built by the guys who do the desert trucks...

...I definitely want these to be my last set before a future SAS...I just hate the thought of putting a ton of money into it when I could be buying a whole new front end...

....I just need more work, more money for my toys, and more care free wheeling...:burnout:

this is what I plan on doing.. ive been trying to find some threads on the site with pictures of how others modified their stock arms but I'm having trouble finding any.

I didn't make them, but here is a thread of a set of extended arms I am modifying to use different joints. I put a bunch of pics in the thread so you should be able to see how it was extended...

Here is a link to a big(ish) pic of the back of my extended RA so you can see what they did when they extended them..

great info guys.. thanks for the links. I'll need to do some more searching on lengths, unless you guys have some more info to share? lol

most "store bought" extended arms usually have a cross member that bolts in place of the factory tranny crossmember ( with its own crossmember ) such as Skyjacker

so i would just get a measurement from that location:thumbsup:

if ya need to you can download their PDF instructions to see how the crossmember/ mount is made

..Didn't want to start a new thread but if there is interest, this could be moved as a new thread..:D

...Gauging interest...

...I have been talking with Brandon at BTF and we are doing new arms on both my Ranger and Explorer...Due to several companies dropping their lines of first gen X and Ranger products, and due to failures of these arms, I am having custom stuff built...
http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=288810

..Right now the Ranger has a tranny crossmember with integrated 2.63" joint pockets running Ballistic joints and one off custom radius arms...I am currently using the joints and think they are great...The Explorer currently has a Superlift RA set up..

...For the Explorer, we are going to take a set of BTF arms, fabricate new pockets for Ballistic joints that will mount up as a direct replacement of the Superlift RA brackets...

...There is a length and location difference between both, the Superlift bracket location and the tranny crossmember location...

...Need some feedback and some interest...

1) Would anyone be interested in just the new Superlift replacement joint pockets, so you could customize your own arms and use these joints?

2) Would anyone be interested in the tranny crossmember with the integrated pockets.

3) Would anyone be interested in having a stock set of arms built up, and/or, using just the joint pockets in replacing the Superlift brackets?

4) Would anyone be interested in a new BTF complete set of arms, pockets, and tranny crossmember as a kit?(could get pricey)

...Something to think about..The tranny crossmember, joint pockets, and Ballistic joints can all be used as is, in the same location, for a future Solid Axle Swap (SAS)..;)

Disclaimer:

...I am not, and will not be, receiving any benefits in any way from BTF or Ballistic. I am paying for all my stuff and my trucks are just the guinea pigs...

iinterested in converting over to Ballistics joints to get rid of the Bushings on My Superlift RA's ;) If Brandon is actually gonna do something like this???????????

...As far as I know, he won't be modifying Superlift RA's due to their known breakage, if that is the question..

...He will be making up new RA's and/or beefing up, extending, and modifying stock RA's, making new joint brackets, and more if there is interest..
