So i just got a 1993 explorer 4 door. My goal is to make a camping truck, but i like to camp deep in the woods or for day trips to go play. But at the same time i want to drive it on the street. Im thinking about just running 33s to save money. any ideas? like SAS many people have dana 30s? any problems with that?

Your TTB Dana 35 will handle the 33s just fine. It will be much cheaper to just get a lift to fit them, than to do a whole SAS. Unless of course you just want a project to work on, then my all means swap away.

Welcome to the site.

So how much more money would it take to do a sas dana 30? I need to do something cuz i played at my friends house today im not that happy with the expolrer so far. axles are to low!!!

To make the 30 worth it (build it with good parts so it is strong enough), I'd say at the very least, very least, it would be twice as much as a drop bracket lift like TrailMaster, Superlift or Skyjacker etc...

What size tires do you have and what size do you want to run?

He said he wants to run 33's. What exactly is draggin?

My bad, I totally missed that.

You're not going to gain enough clearance using a 30 over your TTB to make the extra cost worth it especially if all you want to run is 33s. I beat the crap out of my first explorer with a 4" lift and 35s for 3 years as a DD and wheeler.

Right now im running 31s With a 2" lift. i think i have 4" coils from some one but i dont know. there 18" long came in a superlift box. I was thinking about keeping the 2" drop brackets and putting the 4" coils on then running my 33" TSLs...

Thats cool but i dont think my drivers lower ball joint would like it. lol. But i might try that soon. Im going wheeling with my boss sometime and i have to make the toyota look bad.

And it was my front axle that was to low and in the back the u bolt bracket found somethings from time to time.
