Alright, so I am moving to SC in a couple of weeks and I was planning to do a tune-up before the trip. I am planning on buying new...
plugs
wires
ignition coil pack
PCV valve
fuel filter

Anything else you guys think I should buy? I am planning on flushing radiator, brakes, tranny, but the diffs. were done not too long ago from some work that was done by a shop (about 40K when done, I am at 85K now). I wanted to do the wheel bearings, but a little to pricey to do now.
Oh yeah, Should I buy the parts for a ranger on the same year or should I buy the parts for an explorer or the same year and engine size? They dont have the explorer sport 4.0L OHV...

It's just a Explorer 4.0L OHV

Anyhow, no need to replace the coil packs unless you are having an issue with them. They sometimes last the life of the vehicle!

well, I was planning on replacing it only because I threw a code the other day which said something like cylinder 4 missfire. And with the trip coming up, I didnt want to play hide and seek with an electrical gremmlin. I figured I would just get it all at once. But if you think I dont need to, then I will just take it back...

if it needs a tune up (plugs wires) then that is probably your cause for a misfire
