I have 98 explorer sport. i had to replace the multifunction switch a year ago when the head lights wouldn't. the switch would get stuck between high and low beam. the new problem is the turn signals don't auto shut off after turn. is there a replaceable cancel cam in the steering column . who sells it if there is one

Welcome to this forum! The multifunction turn signal switch might be loose if you have a problem after replacing it. I had this happen on my 89. The turn signal wouldn't cancel. The screws holding were loose.

Im not 100% sure but i know on most GM cars up to like 97-98 the cancel switch was in the column. on most you had to pull the steering wheel too....the part is cheap you can get it from ford.

thanks for the info and tips. it ended up being a borken multi switch. the spring load tip that rides on cancel cam broke.

Long time lurker here,

Same thing happened to me. I hope it is not going to be too much of a job......... I will keep updated and try to create a how-to thread with pics.......

If I remember right it only took about a 1/2 hour to change out the switch. It was also the second time I changed it .Napa gave me the second one on warranty
