Is there two different types of transmissions based on if you have AWD/FWD or tow package? I keep hearing that there's a heavy duty transmission or a regular one on these Exs.

I think the only difference is between the base model, and the XLT's and Ltds. Both of the latter ones have the select shift options on them.

The selectshift is included only when you get the tow package.
not sure if standard on the LTD.

Selectshift is standard on Limited.

It not standard on the limited. When I ordered the tow package I got the select shift trans.

It was standard equipment on mine. I have it and I don't have the tow package. Just looking at the brochure and it shows "6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission" as standard equipment on the XLT as well.

You are confusing tow/haul mode with SelectShift. Two different things. SelectShift is std. on XLT and Ltd. Tow/haul comes with towing pkg.

It is a little confusing, but 182RG is right, but only when you add the towing pkg does the SelectShift Trans show up under optional with NO CHARGE.

It is listed regardless on the left hand section under Standard Equipment

Thanks for clarifying guys. I also saw on my brochure that the selectshift was standard on all XLT and Limiteds but my dealer told my otherwise when I was buying it. I wonder where I heard there was a heavy duty transmission for people with tow package though. Thanks guys!
