Hi guys,

I just wondered if anyone knew the Imperial equivalent tyre size of the 255/70/R16

I'm guessing it's about 31x10.50 R16 but just wanted to confirm this before I changemy tyres.

Cheers

Carl

Cheers for the links, sadly neither of them give the answers I'm looking for - I'll just have to keep on googling until I can find the answer.

I guess if I was any good at maths I could probably use the second link to work it back and find the answer but being a bit fik like I think I'll go and get very :bdrunk: and worry about it some other time ;) :D :D

255/70/R16

first number is width of tire in mm, So, 255/25.4= 10.04 in wide

2nd number is the hight of the sidewall with respect to the width of the tire.
so, 10.04in*.70= 7.03 in

So the overall, the tire is 16+7.03*2= 30.06 in tall

conclusion
255/70/R16 = 30x10 R16
understand?

edit: if you want the larger tire look a 31x10.5 R16 will fit on a stock explorer

 Thanks for the simple explanation, it all makes perfrct sense to me now :D :D :D

All I have to do now is find a tyre supplier that will stock that size and I'll be happy.

Cheers

Carl
