U Joint HELP

Want to change the u joints on my 94 explorer, but when i called summitt for some ordering help, they said the three for the half shafts going to each of the front wheels could be one of two possible sizes. they said the bearing cap could be 1 1/16", or 1 3/16". called two ford dealers and they said they look it up by the vin and it doesn't say what size. anyone know how to tell, so i can order the right one???

As much as it may sound like I'm being a shyte here, why not just measure them? Odds are, it's the larger of the two... but measure to be safe.

whenever you call for front end parts most places list the options for dana 28 and the dana 35 i.e. ball joints, u-joints. go with the larger whenever asked.

thanks for the help. i'll read them and order the joints. i did try to measure the joint on the right hand side with a dial caliper, but it was almost impossible
