there needs to be more emphasis on U - Joint replacement rather than
hub failures ...duh doods there is enough torsion coming off those u joints to rivit a skyscraper what are you even talking about hub parts he ha
currently i didnt understand why i was snapping the posts inside my auto hubs or why my new lockers were loping anyway he ha
its the U- joints on the spindles one side of the u joint is invariably locked up you can do the "spin the shaft test" but you wont know untill you pull the axels that one side is frozen or worse locked ...to get with the right diagnosis im looking at replacing my u -joints and any front end parts that are making squeeks or noises dipping into the road looking for a healthy rout to a clean front end
solving binding errors while driving joint will partially bind its not a good situation results in jerks on the wheel :roll
might have to replace all my ujoints Ive had 2 other fords i usually like em because there smoother than the other guys regarding drive line vibrations So ive been looking for vibrations that are comming up the floor that are not characteristic with mr .ford
installing:
im using newer greasable moog ujoints ...so far only a minor complication when re installing the oil plug cap hits the spindle you have to put it in after installing the spindle
also when buying the correct cap size 1" 3/16 th's is the right part on my 94 1 1/16th cap is for the 3.0 motor evidently some clarifying took place to get the right part
another thing that little big pain getting a socket to fit that crazy star point 6mm inside the backing plate of the wheel need a slim cheapo or deep socket 1/4 inch drive socket with 12 points to get the abs sensor housing out of the way to pull the shafts ..dont strip the bolt head or youll be hoping to easy out the small bolt still havnt found a good skinny 1/4 drive 12 pointer socket to do the job on the drivers side
lighter side
now they have sand and glue they dont have to deal with shrinkage as much but im uncertain about two 40's from opposite directions making a crushed beer can
