..This was previously held in Texas but here is the update info..Who's going?

TEMECULA, CA July 3rd, 2013: ULTRA4 Racing announced this week that the Nitto Tire National Championship will be moved from Texas to Las Vegas, Nevada. The race will now be held on Moapa Indian Reservation land on Friday, September 27th. The land is located just north of Las Vegas, NV, and the new location offers a combination of high speed desert and technical rock crawling. Drivers can expect similar terrain to ULTRA4's biggest race, the Griffin King of The Hammers Presented by Nitto Tire.

"Moving the championship was not a decision we made lightly" said ULTRA4 Racing founder, Dave Cole, who went on to say, "Las Vegas provides easier access for fans and sponsors and the venue offers ideal terrain to showcase our drivers and our series. The Nitto Tire National Championship is growing, and the Las Vegas property provides room for that growth."

..and some more info...

The Las Vegas property is also large enough to accommodate more than 50 cars, which was the limit in Texas. The top 50 ULTRA4 drivers based on series points will still be given first priority to race at the championship. However, the race will be opened to all ULTRA4 drivers as well as Pro Comp Stock and Rubicon Express Modified vehicles who wish to compete in Friday's race.

Pre-running will be available on Thursday with the race the following day. Starting position will be determined by Nitto Tire National series points; the driver with the most championship points will have the pole position. Should there be a tie in series points, starting position will then be based on the drivers' highest scoring single race in the 2013 season. East Coast Drivers that have raced in 2013 with the intention of going to Nationals should keep a look out for a pending announcement in the next several weeks regarding fuel credits to help with the additional fuel costs.

We'll be there cause supposedly they're running tech for our race in the same area at the exact same time. They're basically saying we should be able to actually spectate the ultra 4 stuff while we're teching our rigs. We race in the same area the following afternoon/evening.

...I too will be there..:biggthump

..Committed yesterday and probably will be camping out there even though they give out some rooms for the drivers..

I'll be sleeping in my own bed. LOL Info hasn't been released really yet for our race so I'm not 100% sure what's up. I'd like to catch as much of the ultra 4 stuff as I can to spectate but obviously I've got a little bit of a priority of my own that weekend too so I'll squeeze in what I can.

..:shifty_ey ..Ultra4 will be doing their practice laps on thursday..;)

Owner is flying in either Tues evening or wed morning. We'll be taking the race truck out to prerun with for sure on Wed. Thursday we'll clean up and do any post prerun prep needed. If time allows we'll take either my expo or my yota around the course possibly one more time. If we take the expo I'd likely have back seat space if interested but no promises. Friday will be tech, Sat is race day for us.

That's all very preliminary though as like I said, hardly any concrete info on our race has been released yet. I'd expect info in the next couple weeks.

..:shifty_ey ...A few spy pics of the course..

..I'm already getting excited..:bounce:

I want to go! :( But like I said in the Colorado Colors thread, this summer has been terrible on the income level, killing any and all monies needed for having fun. Have fun Ted and take lots of pics and video for us.

..Brian won't be out there either so I will do my best to bring the most live coverage I can to the Forum..:salute:

..:nono:..But don't you be posting you can't make it out to KOH 2014..Just jump on the back of any trailer heading that way and we will feed ya and make sure you at least have a tent..;)

..Sirhk100...Do you have any info you can add to this thread about the HDRA race?..I am finding very little info on it but know they are sharing pits and a majority of the course area..

...The Ultra4 course is actually virgin territory on Tribal Land as it has never been driven on..

..They are actually going to chauffeur people out to a remote spectator area before the race starts and come back to get them after 5 pm that day as no one will be allowed to cross the course..

..It is jagged small rocks, and rocky, and smooth rocks, and big rocks, and a few more pictures just popped up of the race course and I believe this is the downhill section where the remote spectator area will be by..There will be a Jumbotron in main spectator area and a camera set up out here..Hopefully they get the porta potty thing worked out...Enjoy..:D

Actually believe it or not, I really don't have a whole lot of info on the race yet. Course map is supposed to be released mid sept last I heard. Start/finsh and main pits will be at the travel center/fireworks stand. I know the race starts at 4pm on sat afternoon and the big boys are going 5 laps on a 60 mile loop and us slower folks are going 4 laps. Tech/contingency is at the travel center where the jumbotron will be. I didn't know about the shuttle spectating situation... I'll just have to watch on the jumbotron. I will say, HDRA is known for putting on quite a show/party at the tech so it may be more fun to stay around there in all honesty and watch the show on the big screen. I'm guessing it's a similar screen/coverage as to what they setup for KOH and it's not disappointing. I'll let you know more as I know... Our team is registered for the race, we're 100% in and the owner has his tickets from london booked already. I've got the whole rear of the truck out right now for some minor changes and hoping to have it back together this weekend. Then I just gotta start double/triple/quadruple checking my prep list...

..Here is some more spectator info..;)

Here is the deal for Spectators:

There will be a 'short course' infield at main pits where you can see the start/finish, pit action, and jumbotron coverage of the race. Contingency for the HDRA race on Saturday will also be going on at the same location during our race.

I have decided to add one remote area. This will be a little tricky but the opportunity is amazing. There is a section of the course that is between two of the rock trails and up on a hill. You can see a couple miles of go fast a HUGE downhill rock trail and a long uphill canyon that is 15 cars wide with multiple ledges.

The tricky part is there is no way to get to it without crossing race course. We will offer 'escorted' access to the area but you will be committed to that location for the duration of the race. The marshalls will be leaving the main pit at 8:00 AM and leading the spectator group to the location. Once there you will not be able to leave until escorted back at the completion of the race (5:00 PM). I will work on a port-a-potty but food and water will be your responsibility.

This is not 'Open' land. This area has NEVER been used before. No one has driven on the rocks and more importantly no one has put a couple hundred spectators on the hill there. Everyone signing up for this opportunity is also signing up to help us the leave the area as beautiful and trash free as it is now.

I realize it is an unusual situation for a spectator area. I had intended on offering no remote spectator areas at all but this area is too amazing to keep under wraps.

The live coverage will shoot from both rock trails if you can't make it out.

Additionally, there may be limited seats available for the Awards Ceremony on Friday night at Treasure Island.

Spectators are allowed to use the Ultra4 room code at TI. Room block closes on 9/5

Dave

We'll be watching from the jumbo tron on friday. Not sure if we'll be out there in one of my trucks on thursday or not. Depends how Wed goes. We're going to prerun in the race truck so my partner can get some seat time in it before the race. If we feel like we want another lap and if the truck doesn't need much post prerun prep we'll head back out in one of my rides. "if" we feel like we got the course down or "if" the race truck needs work due to the prerun we'll skip the thursday prerun and do what we need to. Obviously our prerun will be a bit different then the ultra 4 guys but supposedly they share a bunch of the high speed stuff. That's actually scary cause that means a CRAP load of rigs with BIG tires will be chewing it up before we go thru...

...All I can say is Tires, Tires, Tires..

..I'm expecting cut tires to be the equalizer out here..:burnout:

...My plan is the Ultra4 race coverage of course but want to stay in contact with you thru race week..I can share some track info but would also like to cover your truck as in pics and info for the Forum of your race also..;)

..You guys get to pre-run wednesday?

..Will you have a pit crew and will you guys have a remote pit or solely the main pit in your race? I'll need your freq. to add when I get out there..Unless it's just sign language..:p:

..BTW, if anyone has a favorite driver or team in the Ultra4 race that they would like to see interviewed or covered during the race, let me know...:biggthump

We're still up in the air on pits right now, should know a lot more after this weekend. Hoping to have 2, possibly 3 pit crews. At the very least we'd like a main pit and then 2 people to bounce between the two remotes if possible. Still waiting on course maps to see logistically what's possible. It's hard to really make any plans till those are released.

We do get to prerun Wed and thurs. not sure about ultra 4 but we get both days.

Will likely not know our freq. till tech or even the day of the race. Last time, we just bounced thru them till we found one that wasn't completely over ran with teams. LOL We did loose comms for about the last 5 miles of our last race so sign language between me and Jason was going down inside the truck! LOL

Tires for sure on the ultra stuff, I'm hoping not so much for our course.

We will be prerunning for sure wed, wed afternoon we have a photo shoot, wed evening hoping to do a pre race meeting with everyone that will be there for us, probably at my house. Thursday is up in the air, truck work, more prerun, screw off, all kinda depends what we need... It's open right now. Thursday evening we're going to attend a kids charity event at Bj's sports bar on tropicana just a few blocks behind the MGM. Out truck will likely be on display there. Friday is tech and watching the ultra race, sat we go bounce around for a few hours.
