Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is the universal joint? It kind of sounds like it to me, and yes, I have replaced the cv shafts. Thanks in advance

@Brian Carter

Could be, if you can feel vibration also, not likely if no vibration. IMO. imp

Pretty sure it has vibration. I'll test it tomorrow. I know that's where the sound is coming from and it sounds like it makes a clunk sound when I go back and forth between drive and reverse, and it jerks a little when doing that.

I don’t see that being a U-Joint.

What do you see it being then. Noise is coming from the exact same spot and when I turn it by hand it's making a clunking noise. Also I saw another post where a truck sounded the same and that was the problem

When you turn the driveline by hand?

If you lay under the driveline near the joints, and try to move the connection, does it move?

In my experience, even a cap with almost no needles left in it, still only clunks when going from a stop. But once in movement doesn’t make the same noise. Let alone a patterned clicking noise.

But I’ve not had to deal with U-Joints on vehicles made after 2000ish. Seems like they don’t have the same issues they used too have.

When it's jacked up and in park it does. I haven't tried when it's down, can't get under it very easily.
