hey watsup. just wonderin, does anybody know of any "unskippable cd decks?" and when i mean, unskippable, i mean the kind where you can drive through ten speedbumps and not have it skip once. I thought i saw some one brand where they said they tested it in extreme conditions and it never skipped. I heard sony came out with that something shock on their decks awhile back, was that any good? I need a deck that wont skip especially when i'm blasting through the whoops in the dezert or dunes? thanks.

I have a portable Phillips, that has 25 second sampeling.

If fell off a table onto the floor once and did not miss a beat ( pun intended )

Now ten speed bumps may have a affect on it but I dont know.

I dont think I have ever SEEN ten speed bumps in a row much less driven over them

he is talking about whop de dos of road.....

considering cds are laser devices and a laser uses refracted light, i would have to say no there are none that are unskippable... some may be less prone to skipping but it isnt a harddrive where the discs are bolted into the reading case......

thinking of harddrive... get an ipod, or similar... thats digital and wont skip......

yeh... im thinking about geting xm radio

well like I said mine samples 25 seconds in advance.

In the event of a skip the program " remembers " and just seemlessly catches up when it gets back on track.

Or something like that.

I dunno. I know it impresses me.

I think there was somem Alpine deck that spun the CD at like 10x or something and buffered like 1:30 of audio?

Maybe worth checking into..

u remember wut model alpine?

Sony I believe has something about skipping. It's been awhile since I was in the "audio world" of things.
