Was moving around with my steering, one of the hooks broke off after I replaced the upper control arm, anyone know where I can get one? Thanks

I'm getting the feeling nobody around here has been to a junk yard.
It's a one bolt job, 2 on a bad day, and you can buy the part for probably 10 cents and the price of admission.

I have spent so much time getting junkyard parts for my Explorer that I don't understand how other people are oblivious to that source. There are at least 50 dead Explorers within 10 miles of my house. I got a pocket full of buttons that were missing, 4 tires for $100 (mounted and balanced!), a spare fan belt, a seat control switch, a ceiling pod mount, a hinge cover for the rear windshield wiper, both sun visors, their brackets, and a partridge in a pear tree.

What's the problem?

Umm, how about we dont have have junkyards here like that? How about you walk into the office like its a parts store with everything sitting on a shelf and youre not even allowed near the cars "due to insurance reasons"? Im sure I could walk into there and have them charge me an arm and a leg for them to go pull one off though, because they will charge with a set minimum charge for something like that. Would be nice if everyone had a u pull it in their neighborhood though..

I didn't know about that, but I suppose it's only a matter of time until the junk yards local to me, "improve" in the same way.:(

The last yard around here that played, "hide it behind the counter" went out of business. They would take my money, present whatever piece of crap they found first, and tell me, "There is no such thing as using a micrometer to measure a bearing. I have your money. The transaction is finished. Take the bearing with you or don't."

Now, the same spot is occupied by LKQ Junkyards Inc. or whatever they call themselves, and I can get in there for $3. Yes, it's work, but I'm not paying them $50/hour to pick up the first P.O.S. they can find and I can measure the parts before I pay for them.:cool2:

Oh yeah, I miss when I could walk in and just look around. Retards in the yards here are just "pull it off" jockeys. I had a Thunderbird Turbo Coupe and there are lots of parts from other cars that are interchangeable but these guys didnt even have access to that. Having to know exactly what you want friggin sucks, Telling these guys hey, I need one door pull strap cover, from either this this or this car from 86-88 for the merc, 87 for the mustang etc etc, god what a pita.

I gave mine away on this site about a year ago after I installed cam kits. Someone who has installed cam kits may have them still lying around. If you want new, just put a cam kit on it for $50 and be done with it. Otherwise, find a junkyard that lets you pull the part you need and it won't cost but a few bucks.

Good idea but...my Ex got new UCA's and the alignment was still good! Besides, the 4 position Camber Kits for my Ex are $200 at Advance Auto Parts. Very lucky to get away without needing them!
