Can a intake manifold go bad? I had to replace a High fuel sensor so I cleaned things up and put in new gaskets. I put it all back together and now the SUV sounds like a Jet engine when I give it gas. Some times it sounds normal. The RPMs don't change put it lacks power when it sounds like the jet. I did a leak test and did not get any changes. Now I will say when I changed the sensor the old manifold had some stripped out mounting areas that connect the EGR and TBI. So I went to the junk yard and got a manifold off a 06 4.0 SOHC and put that on. I never inspected this manifold but then I have no idea what a good or bad one looks like. Is this something that can be cleaned or should I start looking for a replacement? Also a side question. What does it mean when the AC stops blowing when you put any work load on the engine? Then when your done passing or what ever it starts to blow again?
