Time to take on the Upper/lower intake manifold gasket and the oil check valve fix.

A few weeks ago, someone posted the part number and link to a Ford site that you could order the kit from anyone have that link, i cant seem to find it.

I am also going to do the coolant temp sensor, just in case it is the cause of the bad cold idle. Rock auto lists a square and and a round end sensor. I didnt drive the truck today so i cant look at it.

Anyone know if 99 4.0 SOHC's had the round or square connector? or was it random?

Thanks

Are you refering to the 00M12 kit?
00M12 Kit - YL2Z-9E473-AA

Check the part number of the temp sensor at the motorcraft Ford web page and cross reference at rock auto-this web page uses your VIN to get the correct part:

Thanks Scucci, thats some good info

Don't touch that sensor unless it's bad... It'll just cause you more headaches. The bung that's molded into the housing will turn before the sensor breaks loose, and once it turns, you have to replace the whole housing to the tune of $300+. There is allegedly a way to retrofit a newer housing with the push-in sensors instead of the threaded ones (which is much cheaper) but I don't know all the details on that one off the top of my head. (search a bit and I'm sure it'll pop up... I think it's a sticky somewhere...)

Definitely take gijoecam's advice. I just did the rear tensioner and the 00m12 kit this past weekend and tried to take both sensors out of the thermostat housing and the left one wouldn't break free and instead it was just spinning. Luckily a junkyard had the whole housing for 10 dollars. Good luck.

Roger that, i will leave it alone and se eif the upper/lower gaskets are the culprits
