Urgent Help! Need to recover my wedding ring from 2002

I had my console cover open and my wedding ring fell inside the slot that the console cover snaps into. I need to know how I can get inside the console to get it....I can see it inside the slot about 18 inches down. I was wondering if the liner inside the console comes out and if so how do I do that?

I have a 2002 Ford Explorer XLT. Any help would be muchly appreciated.
