The DPFE has about a 100% failure rate. If you ask any parts person they know.
The EGR its self is pretty hearty. You can clean the carbon out of it If you are strapped for cash. The trouble with carbon is that it has a higher melting temperature than anything in the universe and nothing really dissolves it without messing up the diaphragm in the EGR.
If you are broke just clean it out with soap. If you have mony use the new one.
