they cover the grill not the radiator,this still allows air from under the truck to enter between the grill and radiator and a lot of the newer rigs have electric fans.
After everything that has been said -- ultimately, the decision to run a simple free piece of cardboard in front of one's radiator is up to them.
When the temps are below zero, I do. Makes a world of difference. If someone else doesn't want to, so be it...
I just figure that -25 is 50 degrees lower than 25, and 150 degrees lower than the optimized cooling system design, and cutting back on surface area for cooling is helpful during those deep cold spells.
