using fuel filter as inline transmission filter?

Has anyone done this? I have heard about poeple connectin a fuel filter inline after the transmission cooler as a secondary transmission filter. Please provide your insight on this

this doenst sound like a good idea, if you want a filter put in a tranny filter (really they are oil filters) kits are made t odo this, do a search for aldive he has an aux tranny filter. gas and oil are different and a fuel filter will not flow the same as a oil filter.....
 












Get a perma-cool kit. I would think the oil is too thick to flow through those filters.
 






I picked up an inline filter kit FORD wants it's mechanics to use on a rebuild of a 4R70W... and gosh darn if it doesn't look a whole lot like a big fuel filter... of course no telling what the element is made of... and that may be the key....
 






yeah that's where I got the idea. I saw an auction ebay about a guy selling an inline transmission filter and looked exactly like an oversized fuel filter. That's why i asked
 






We need somone to cut one apart and tell us what's inside....:)

Don't forget that the spin-on elements for the other filter kits are only 3-10 bucks..
