Dugway. I remember Dugway. Road shows in the "tin can church house" before the LDS church built their chapel off the base. Fishing clover creek. Getting my dad's '67 (or was it '66) Chevy 2WD pickup stuck in the Stansbury mountains. Deer hunting Johnson's pass. Driving the Pony Express trail and losing a muffler (Just didn't hold up to 150 miles of gravel road). Camping at Simpson's Springs. Definitely lots of empty desert to explore.
I'm in SLC as well and would love to do a little bit of wheeling although I still quite new to it. I'm a enduro bike rider by trade and the 4x4 is a new hobby I'm starting to pick up!
Where did you grow up shorty? You know alot about Dugway and the area. I'm guessing if not Dugway itself then Grantsville or Tooele. Let me know what kind of schedule's ya got. I work 12 hr shifts mon-fri. We (my inferior jeep ownin buddies and I) will probably be going out for a run this sat. (25 0ct).
Right now I am collecting parts I have new gears at home, and hopefully Gerald will become a powertrax dealer, that way I will have lockers soon. After that I am going to get the superlift 4" put on it
I just put a powertrax lockright in my buddies Jeep Cherokee. Except for the fact that the previous owner of the jeep welded the carrier together it was an easy install. With no complications it should be a two hour job. I plan on getting one after I get a lift put on.
Im super busy all week... I am usually free all saturday and sunday though. I wouldnt mind going and riding along I have been stuck one too many times in stock form...
My ex is currently stock as well but I still take it out. I have many trails and "play" spots near me that are no problem for stock vehicles. A few of the places have many rocks so good tires and a spare are a must.
Looks like saturdays are good for us all. Let me discuss it with the wife and maybe we can get a trail ride for 6 dec. If not that day most likely Jan before I will be free again, with anniversary (for the singles don't get married in Dec) and family Christmas parties all the rest of my saturday's are booked.
Hey guys, I'm a Utah Native and I'm over there a couple of times a year, next time I bring the X over there I'd love to get together and do some wheeling...
Pretty much anything... Other than mud... I like mud, but its so hard to clean up afterward, I don't think its worth it... Especially since I do my own wrenching, I'm tired of working on my truck with dirt in my eyes!!! LOL...
