The easiest (and basically the only) place to locate the sending unit is to put it in the same place as the stock sender (passenger side of block near oil filter). You will need to use a T-fitting, since it is necessary to keep your origional sending unit as well.

i have the 302ci v8.... my oil filter is on the drivers side near the front of the block... my oil pressure sending unit (stock) is next to the DIS sending unit.... where do i get a t-fitting???

which 0ne

Is your gauge mechanical of electric? If its electric you don't have to worry off the line leaking into your truck and getting oil on your floor and dash. If its mech. Sring a few extra bucks and buy a copper line from the parts store. Usually the gauges come with cheap poly(plastic) line. Copper takes alot more abuse.

mine is electric... p/n is autometer 4327...my question is....it comes with a sending unit....do i have to use that one or can i splice the stock one????

ok.... called autometer..... they said to get a y-adapter so i can run my stock pressure sending unit and my new one....the stock on goes into the computer and sences if there is oil pressure..... just for the hell of it i unpluged it and after 5 sec the engine shut off..... pluged it back in and it ran fine..... go figure......

if any one knows where i can get this y-adapter...please help!!!!

Y pipe

You should be able to get one from any auto zone, checker or pepboys.

cool.... thanks... i will send some pics when im done..... any one else have any idea where to get a y-fitting"????

In my Mustang I run an external oiling line from a high pressure boss in the front of the engine to the rear cam bearing, where the sender is, and I used one of the blue anodized T-fittings from Summit... You may have to poke and prod to figure out which one you need, but one probably exists that will work, they have hundreds of those little fittings and such.

Auto-Zone has Y-Adapter!!!!
