Can I put the 5.0 in my 91 explorer? It has the 5 speed manual. If I can will it require suspension mods? Which 5.0 do I use? Shortblock? Will it bolt right up?

I would like to dump the 4.0 v6 thats in it now and drop in the 5.0.

Any input about this would be greatly apreciated.

check this out. also welcome to the site here. the search feature here is your best friend. you can find all sorts of info. again welcome!!!

First welcome to the site. Second you should probably try a search first for v8 conversion or something of that nature. You should find plenty of info on that subject. I can tell it can be done and it has been done. There is quite a few ways of doing it. Depends on how much you are willing to spend. It won't bolt right up to the stock transmission or motor mounts. Like I said search around this site and if you still have questions. feel free to ask.

WOW!

Thank you for the fast replies! I am no stranger to forums, but I figured I would use this as my "break out" post.

Sorry for the trouble.

You can also try this site. Click here. It's mostly for rangers but should apply to explorers as well. He lists websites for getting parts and brackets and info that you would need for a v-8 swap project also.
