V8 + no muffler = bad idea!

For those of you that think it would be cool to drive around without a muffler on your 5.0 explorer, i'm here to tell you it's a very bad idea. :thumbdwn:
Don't do it!
I only took off the muffler after the 2nd cats and it was loud enough to be clearly heard over 1 mile away.
Without the muffler, you may very well end up with hearing damage.
While i didn't get pulled over by the cops, it was so loud in that cab that i could barely hear a "fart-can" rice burner running at 4000rpm.

AGAIN its too loud! It caused the ears of bystanders to ring.

I agree, I drove my 4.0 for awhile without a muffler. While it may have sounded great, it was no fun for longs drives or trying to listen to my system.

However, it's worth it once.
Just to pull up to a "fart can" have rev there engine...
And then damage ther hearing with your loud ass engine! Yeah!

Reminds me of when I lopped the mufflers off my '97 SHO. It was fun idling at traffic lights when people turned to look and thought "WTH- all that's here is a Taurus, it can't be that..."

When we got the Van, it came with a pair of Blanks. Basically, mufflers that were made without anything in them. OMG was it loud.. It was nice at idle etc, but get on the freeway and spin the motor at 2500 rpms the entire way and my ears were ringing.

Even worse was when I put in the gas gas tank I had to cut the exhaust off right in front of the rear axle and then had to drive it 35 miles like that to get the new exhaust put on.. I'm sure people were looking at me funny as I was wearing my shooting ear muffs as I was driving.. (even through town).
