V8 with 4 wheel drive?

The other day, I was with my parents at our local Mercedes dealership because we were trading in my mom's 2006 CLS for a new one. In the used car section there was a second generation Eddie Bauer Explorer. I thought the only options for these years were V6 4wd or 2wd and V8 awd or 2wd, but this one said V8 on the side of it, yet it had a 4wd knob my the radio. Did someone just stick on the V8 lettering? Or is this really a V8 4wd explorer?

Did the knob by the radio say '4WD'? The air suspension-equipped AWD has a knob at this location, which says 'Normal Ride/Off Road'. When in off-road position, it rises by about 1" and stiffens the shocks. Unfortunately, replacement air shocks don't have the stiffening function.
