I searched for this and did not have any luck finding anything like my problem, but if there is a thread on this can I be directed to it? I have a 99 5.0 AWD XLT and this morning on my way to work it hesitated on the interestate real bad. I was trying to pass an Semi and it would not accelerate up hill. So I punched it and it would not rev over 4k without sputtering and hesitating. It seems to hesitate through all the gears. I put it in park when I got to work and reved it up a bit and it seemed to do fine. The CEL is not on. I filled the tank up yesterday and put in a bottle of X1R fuel treatment as I've had good experiences with it before. I'm wondering if I may have bad gas, but I'm worried it may be more. It has 64k miles on it and its never given me any problems before. Also, my speakers were giving me problems last night.....thought it might be some engine interferance, posted thread under audio last night. Could these be related? Do the coil packs go bad on these often? Could it be the tranny? I'm going to check plugs and wires and all during my lunch break. Any Ideas and suggestions are appreciated. I've never had problems with a 5.0 like this before and I've had a few. But this is the first I've not been able to pull codes on myself, so I may have to have it diagnosed. Thanks

Coil packs on the 5.0 explorer are a common problem. It could be as simple as plugs and wires though.

could also be a dirty MAF

... or a bad FPR, or a clogged fuel filter.

Well, I was working on it after work this evening and I noticed that when my friend reved it up that the exhaust sounded weird. Since I have true dual exhaust and no H pipe so to say, I noticed that the passenger side had a funny noise to it. So I belive that it is missing on that side. So I"m leaning more towards the Coil Pack and ordered them from the parts store this evening and will have them Friday. I should have them on by saturday and will let you all know what I find out. Hopefully this will fix the problem. Thanks for all the help guys
